Remarks: The USAF Tactical Fighter Weapons Center was activated in August of 1966 to establish training and tactics in all non-nuclear functional areas of tactical operations. As the parent organization, it absorbed and controlled the 4520th CCTW and the Thunderbirds already at Nellis. It was also assigned the newly formed 4525th Fighter Weapons Wing (Fighter Weapons School). The 4520th deactivated in 1968, and in 1969 the 4525th was renumbered as the 57th Fighter Weapons Wing. All assigned F-100 activity within the TFWC ceased in 1969. Later, the TFWC became responsible for Red Flag exercises, and many ANG F-100 units participated in the first years of these.
