Remarks: First F-100D wing. The 405th FBW inactivated at Langley in 1958, but was reactivated at Clark in 1959 as the 405th FW. Only the 510th TFS was assigned with F-100s, though the wing also controlled F-102 and B-57 squadrons as well. The 510th TFS was assigned to the 3d TFW in 1964, and in 1965 the 523d TFS with F-100s was transferred to the wing at Clark from the 27th TFW at Cannon AFB. In 1968 the 523d converted to F-4Ds.
