Remarks: After nine years of F-100 operations at England AFB, the 401st TFW was transferred to Torrejon AB, Spain in 1966. Only one of its traditional squadrons, the 613th TFS, made the move as well. The 612th, 614th, and 615th were all sent to South Vietnam Permanent Change of Station with their F-100s to bolster efforts there. The wing added the 307th and 353d TFS while at Torrejon. By early 1971 the wing had fully converted to the F-4C.
