Remarks: The 21st TFW was deactivated in 1960, and the two operational squadrons (416, 531) fell under direct control of the 39th AD. Supported nuclear alert detachments at Kunsan and Taegu ABs in Korea. The 416th and 531st were transferred to the 3d TFW in 1964. The 356th TFS was assigned in 1965, and remained until the 39th AD was replaced by the 475th TFW at Misawa in 1968.
