Remarks: Inactivated in 1959 after two years of F-100D operations, the 366th TFW was activated in France with F-84Fs in 1962. One squadron, the 389th TFS, converted to the F-100 briefly in 1963 before the 366th was sent back to the states to transition to the F-4. In 1966 the 366th was assigned to Phan Rang AB, South Vietnam, with three F-100 squadrons. A wing number swap saw the 35th TFW taking over Phan Rang, while the 366th number went to Da Nang AB with F-4s, thus ending the 366th TFW’s association with the F-100.
