Remarks: The first ANG unit to equip with F-100s. Received F-100As and assigned the air defense mission as the 188th FIS. Swapped out the A model for F-100C/Fs in 1964 and were redesignated the 188th TFS. Called to active duty and deployed to Tuy Hoa AB, South Vietnam, in May of 1968. Flew combat missions while attached to the 31st TFW; returned to state control in June of 1969. Converted to the A-7D in 1973.
